Our story

My name is Simone Neuberg, and I’m an 11th grader living in Los Angeles. I started The Beauty Bridge after identifying a couple of problems in my community.

First of all, I saw how much waste the beauty industry creates every year. In fact, over 120 billion units of packaging are produced annually, much of which ends up in landfills or the ocean. I started noticing that same problem on a local level in Los Angeles. Half-used or unopened products were either sitting on shelves or being thrown away. Seeing that waste up close in my own community made me realize something needed to change.

At the same time, I saw how many young women around me lacked access to basic beauty products that could help them feel more confident and cared for. I wanted to change that.

That’s why I created The Beauty Bridge. We tackle the waste problem by collecting unopened beauty products that would otherwise go to waste, then repurpose them into themed kits made with sustainable materials. We distribute these kits to underserved women across Los Angeles so they can feel supported, confident, and seen.
